What better way to beat the summer heat than with a cocktail made from Virginia’s finest spirits? We don’t think so, and neither do our friends at Belle Isle Moonshine, so they shared some incredible cocktail recipes that will help you stay cool this season.
Please enjoy responsibly.
– THE CUCUMBER MARGARITA –
The refreshing taste of cucumber? Check. The sweet heat of Belle Isles Honey Habanero? Check. Have we reached the perfection of the summer cocktail? Review and review. Sipping by the pool, not required but highly recommended.
- 2 oz Belle Isle Honey Habanero
- ½ oz triple sec
- 1 oz lime juice
- ¼ oz agave syrup
- 4 cucumber slices
Mix three cucumber slices together on the bottom of a shaker pan. Top up with ice and then add Belle Isle Honey Habanero, Triple Sec, lime juice and agave. Shake vigorously until well chilled and strain into a chilled glass (or onto the rocks if you prefer). Garnish with a slice of cucumber.
– THE HARVEST MANHATTAN –
This uplifting take on Manhattan combines the fresh and earthy strawberry matcha infusion with a double dose of bitter and sweet vermouth. The result is a smooth and mellow cocktail that hits just the right notes.
- 2 oz Belle Isle Strawberry Matcha
- 1 ounce of sweet vermouth
- 2-3 dashes of orange bitter
- 1-2 dashes of Angostura Bitters
Put Belle Isle Strawberry Matcha, sweet wormwood, orange bitters and Angostura bitters in a mixing glass with ice and stir well chilled. Strain into a rocks glass filled with ice and garnish with a fresh strawberry.
– THE SHOCKOE 75 –
French inspired, Virginia perfected. It’s amazing how well sparkling wine complements the lemon and lavender notes in this cocktail. Whether from the Blue Ridge Mountains, along the Atlantic Ocean or from your own garden – you will feel comfortable with this sip all summer long.
- 1 ½ oz Belle Isle Lemon Lavender
- ¼ oz lemon juice
- ¼ oz plain syrup
- 3 oz Virginia sparkling wine
Pour Belle Isle Lemon Lavender, lemon juice and sugar syrup into a flute and stir. Then fill up with chilled Virginia sparkling wine. Garnish with a lemon spiral and whatever fresh berries you have on hand.
– THE PINK DRINK –
The bright, floral notes of Belle Isles Lemon Lavender Moonshine go wonderfully with this golf course classic. It might not make you the next Tiger Woods or Annika Sorenstam, but it is guaranteed to make you believe that you can get a few punches out of your game.
- 1 oz Belle Isle Lemon Lavender
- 1 can of Belle Isle transfusion
- Lemon wedge
Take a long swig from your Belle Isle transfusion jar and pour the leftovers over ice. Top with Belle Isle Lemon Lavender Moonshine and garnish with a lemon wedge.
